coaching & directing
I provide coaching to authors who are interested in narrating their own audiobook. Audiobook narration is a unique art form, and just because you have experience speaking in front of a microphone doesn’t necessarily mean you’re ready to narrate your audiobook. However, you can get there.
I work with authors to prepare them for the narration experience and to ensure that they craft a high quality recording.
This includes…
Manuscript Prep/Rehearsals – Working with the author on how to prepare the manuscript for recording and one-on-one practice sessions, explaining the craft of narration and helping the author find their voice. Sessions conducted virtually.
Intro to Recording – How the recording process works, what to expect when you step into the booth, and ways to overcome any fears and/or jitters you may have. We’ve all been there. Sessions conducted virtually.
Direction – “Sitting-in” during the recording sessions to provide real-time direction, offering feedback and suggestions. Also conducted virtually, I will work with you to find a local studio that has the capabilities to allow me to join the sessions via Zoom, Google Meet, etc…
